Lilac Week at the Botanical Gardens 

When: Tuesday–Sunday

These days you can spot plenty of pretty spring flowers like hyacinths, narcissuses and tulips at the Botanical Gardens. But it is the lilacs – now in majestic full bloom – that are really worth seeing.  You will discover more than 200 gorgeous varieties to excite your senses. Take the special lilac tour being offered at 14:00 every day this week.

Free Radicals film 

When: Tuesday (19:00)

In the “Raketa” movie theater‘s Small Hall, the Cinemascope Project continues screening weird but fascinating movies. This week’s feature is by the director Pip Chodorov, who lived in New York, studied the semiotics of cinema, began shooting experimental movies and became a co-founder of the laboratory of auteur cinema in Paris. “Free Radicals: A History of Experimental Film” is about the leading figures of 20th century experimental film:  Jonas Mekas, Hans Richter, Robert Breer, Michael Snow and others. This will be the only showing in Minsk!  In English, with Russian subtitles.

Charity Concert
“Help Children Together With Us 4”

When: Saturday (19:00)

It’s no secret that charity and selfness acts can raise your spirits, so come dance and help some needy kids. A bunch of Belarus’ most popular alternative bands – “Kassiopeya,” “Pietlia Pristrastiya,” “Serebrianaya Svadba” and others – will play at this annual fund-raiser. All profits go to a wellness program for children from a local orphanage.

Jazz Under the Stars

When: Saturday (19:00)

This weekend, another open air concert will take place in front of the Sports Palace, where local and foreign jazz musicians will jam. You can catch Fabio Lepore from Italy, Tesla from Sweden and two Belarusian bands, the H.A. Quartet and Konstanin Goryiachi Trio. If it doesn’t rain, the evening is sure to be cool.

Aqua Park “Lebyazhij” 

When: Monday–Sunday 

The long-awaited Aqua Park – one of the largest in the CIS region and Top 5 in Europe – has finally opened in Minsk. If it’s warm enough, come splash around in the lagoons, caves, fountains, and pools, as well as try out the spa complex, fitness center and other sports and entertainment facilities. This kind of exercise is not only good for you but is also fun!

Entrance fee: Tickets can be purchased only online, for example, at kvitki.by, and start at 120 000 BYR for two hours on a week day (150 000 BYR on the weekend) for an adult. The gym is 55 000 BYR for an hour, the sauna costs 200 000 BYR for two hours, and a massage is 150 000 BYR for an hour.
